1. Om Beach
The beach got its name from its shape. The beach is shaped as the puranic mantra “Ohm”. This is also the starting point of the Gokarna Beach trek.
2. Mahabaleshwar Temple
The place is known as Dakshina Kashi since it is considered as a parallel to the Shiva temple at Varanasi. The temple is different in its classical Dravidian architectural style as it is completely built with stones.
Timings: The temple opens by 6:00 am to 12:30 pm and reopens from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
3. Mirjan Fort
The historical monument still showcases its original beauty. The fort has been built in the period of Queen Chennabharadevi. The fort was used as the main center for spice trading in the 16th century. The completely stone build fort has its own arrangements to connect with the outer world through underground routes. Monsoon season is preferred period to visit the fort to see the beauty of greenery inside the fort.
4. Kudle Beach
This is a beach where you can enjoy the beauty of sunset by setting on nearby rocks on the shore. Because of its architecture, you can enjoy surfing, swimming and all kind of watersports here. The beach is long in shape from one end to another and two small mountains in the two ends.
5. Halfmoon beach
The beach got this name from its half-moon shape. Rich with scenic beauty and the calm and quiet beach where you can trek to the land area a small forest inside. The other end of the forest is the paradise beach.
6. Paradise Beach
This is a beach you can reach through hiking through half-moon beach which is little adventures to reach out. You can’t enter every part of this beach because of strong waves with high water current. This is a place where you can relax and live with nature since the complete commercial activities are banned here. Camping and hiking are allowed and motorboat facility also available to reach out of the place.
7. Murudeswar Temple
Even the place is not very near to Gokarna this is one of the places that you can cover on your Gokarna trip. This place is famous for its huge statue of Lord Shiva. This is the second tallest Shiva statue in the world. The Arabian sea is beating in the backside and the overview of this statue from nearby Gopura of Murdeshwar Temple. From Goa and Banglore you can reach by bus. The nearby airport is Goa. Direct trains are also available to Gokarna.
